PSG’s Warren Zaïre-Emery set for rapid return

After suffering an ankle sprain on his France debut on 18th November, Paris Saint-Germain communicated that Warren-Zaïre-Emery (17) would not play again in 2023, however, the academy product has quickly returned from his injury, and could even be in the squad to face FC Nantes on Saturday.

PSG said that Zaïre-Emery would be out until the winter break after sustaining a “moderately bad sprain” to his right ankle. However, it seems that the prognosis may have been a little pessimistic. According to RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkinsthe France international could feature in the group to face Nantes on Saturday night.

Zaïre-Emery has, since Wednesday, been involved in almost the entirety of Les Parisiens’ training sessions, which therefore puts him in contention to potentially return this weekend. Whilst he may not feature against Les Canaris, there is now increased optimism that Zaïre-Emery could play against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday. It is, however, unlikely that he will start against the Bundesliga side.
