Lyon open to selling €20m-rated Rayan Cherki in January

According to Foot MercatoOlympique Lyonnais are open to selling Rayan Cherki (20) during the upcoming January transfer window.

Lyon are glued to the bottom of Ligue 1 and have just one win to their name all season. Cherki has played in all of OL’s matches this season, and whilst he continues to play well with the France U21 side, he is struggling for form at Lyon, like many of his teammates.

In the wake of a particularly disappointing performance against Olympique de Marseille on Wednesday night, Foot Mercato have revealed that Cherki is on the market. The France U21 international’s contract with his formative club runs until June 2025 and the club will therefore not be in a position of strength in the summer should the player not extend.

As a result, Lyon are not closed to idea of selling Cherki for as little as €20m this January, although certain sources quote a slightly higher fee for the playmaker. However, there is currently not great interest in Cherki, who was a target for Chelsea and West Ham United last summer.
