Liverpool retain interest in Kylian Mbappé as PSG set extension meeting date in 2024

In a recent report via L’ÉquipeLiverpool’s interest in Paris Saint-Germain striker and France captain Kylian Mbappé is ongoing. The Premier League side reportedly still believe in their chances of bringing the Paris-born striker to England, having never broken off contact with Mbappé’s entourage after several years.

Even before the Frenchman signed for PSG in the summer of 2017, the Merseyside club had already began to move in the market to try and convince the Monaco youth academy graduate. Manager Jürgen Klopp reportedly travelled by private jet to Nice in the first half of 2017, when the young player was still at Monaco.

It is anecdotally recounted that Mbappé boarded the plane, which remained in the air over the French Riveira and Corsica just long enough for a meeting to take place before returning to Nice.

Meanwhile, L’Équipe also report that PSG and Mbappé have set a date in 2024 for a possible extension. The striker will reportedly consider all options as open before making a crucial decision in his career. The Parisian club reportedly hold a positive stance on the matter, assuring that regardless of the player’s final choice, the financial agreement reached in August between Mbappé and club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi protects the club from a free departure without compensation.
