Wolfsburg want to send Amin Sarr back to Lyon

Wolfsburg are looking to cut Amin Sarr’s (22) loan spell short and send the player back to parent club Olympique Lyonnais, according to a report from Foot Mercato

Last January, Lyon spent €11m to recruit Sweden U21 international Sarr, however, he wasn’t a hit. He scored just once in 18 games with Les Gones before the end of the season. It was therefore a surprise when Wolfsburg decided not only to take the player on loan but also include a €13m purchase option into the deal. Lyon therefore looked set to make a profit on the player, despite his poor performances during his six-month spell at the club.

However, not only does that option not look set to be activated, Sarr could be immediately sent back to OL. Sarr has played just 190 minutes for Wolfsburg, and has failed to score or register an assist in any of his five games for the Bundesliga club. He is currently sidelined with a knee injury.

According to Foot Mercato, Wolfsburg are looking to send the player back to Lyon immediately, before dipping into the transfer market in January for a replacement.
