Will Still after defeat to PSG: “I am incredibly proud of Reims tonight.”

Stade de Reims manager Will Still has said that he was “incredibly proud” of his team, despite their 3-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday evening.

Reims went into the fixture in 4th place in Ligue 1. The Champagne side have continued last season’s form and are now challenging the European places.

However, Reims came up against an inspired Gianluigi Donnarumma and a clinical Kylian Mbappé at the Stade Auguste Delaune on Saturday night. Reims had 43 touches inside the PSG box and forced the Italian shot-stopper into multiple reflex saves. At the other end, Mbappé netted a hat-trick, taking him to 13 Ligue 1 goals this season.

“When there is such quality in front of us, there isn’t a lot that we can do” – Will Still

The scoreline wasn’t reflective of the match itself and post-match Still said that he took pride from the performance. “I am incredibly proud of Stade de Reims this evening. I am very happy with what we showed but when there is such quality in front of us, there isn’t a lot that we can do. Congratulations to them” began Still in a post-match interview with Prime Video Sport.

I don’t know what to tell you because I am really happy with the game that we played,” he added. Reims therefore remain in fourth but could be caught by Lille OSC on Sunday. However, Les Stadistes will not drop any lower than fifth heading into the international break.
