Former Nottingham Forest forward André Ayew in advanced talks over Ligue 1 return

According to Foot Mercatoformer Nottingham Forest forward André Ayew (33) is set to make a return to Ligue 1, eight years after leaving Olympique de Marseille.

Ayew has been without a club since the expiry of his Nottingham Forest contract in the summer. The Ghanaian international featured only 13 times in the Premier League last season and failed to get on the scoresheet for Steve Cooper’s side following his arrival in February.

Foot Mercato now report that Ayew is set to make his return. He had been hoping to integrate a team in one of Europe’s top five leagues, and the OM striker is in advanced discussions with an unnamed Ligue 1 club. The publication adds that the club in question is currently in the top half of Ligue 1. Nice, PSG, Monaco, Reims, Lille, Brest, Le Havre, Nantes and Marseille currently occupy the top nine places in the French top flight.  Negotiations could be concluded before the end of the weekend.
