Inter interested in signing Lille’s Tiago Djaló as a free agent

According to Fabrizio Romano, Inter are interested in bolstering their defence in 2024 with the signing of Lille defender Tiago Djaló (23) on a free transfer. The Portuguese defender’s contract at the Stade Pierre Mauroy is set to expire in June 2024 and with no sign of a contract extension on the horizon, he will be able to negotiate with clubs on a pre-contract agreement in January.

Fabrizio Romano reports that several clubs are interested in the Lille centre back with Inter among those clubs interested having already started negotiations with the player’s entourage. The Nerazurri are only willing to negotiate at what they perceive to be a reasonable deal but are strong admirers of Djaló having tracked him for several years.

The 23-year-old is currently on the sidelines with injury. Djaló suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury during Lille’s Derby du Nord clash with Lens last March. This injury means that the former Milan defender is yet to train or feature for Les Dogues in competitive action this season.
