Get French Football News has learnt that West Ham United had formally approached Lille regarding the availability of their attacking midfielder Salomon Kalou. An enquiry had been made as to how much Lille would want for the player and it is reported that the Hammers may even make some loan attempt for the player with the option to buy. Despite relentless English tabloid reports that West Ham are interested in the player, this is the first time contact has been made between clubs.
According to the one of the owners’ sons Kalou had been in talks but has rejected the chance to join:
