Lyon looking to sign West Ham duo Nayef Aguerd and Saïd Benrahma in January

According to L’Équipe Olympique Lyonnais are keen on West Ham United duo Nayef Aguerd (27) and Saïd Benrahma (28), however, a move for either player could prove difficult.

After being given the green light by the DNCG, French football’s financial watchdog, Lyon will look to spend big in January in order to save themselves from relegation to Ligue 2. According to RMC SportLes Gones have €50m to spend, and they will have to spend intelligently if they are to dig themselves out of trouble.

Lyon have targeted five areas to recruit in. Botafogo’s Lucas Perri will arrive to compete with current No.1 Anthony Lopes, but on top of that, they are also looking to sign a central defender, a defensive midfielder, a box-to-box midfielder, a winger, and a striker.

Benrahma and Aguerd ambitious targets for Lyon

The club also look set to sign Botafogo Adryelson, in what represents a transfer between two Eagle Football Group clubs, but Lyon are also looking for another first-team option in defence. OL are big fans of Aguerd, however, the Moroccan international’s contract runs until 2027 and a move could therefore prove difficult.

Lyon are also interested in his teammate, Benrahma. The Ligue 1 side have even made contact with the Algerian international, however, it could once again prove difficult to convince the player to join a relegation battle. Belgian winger Largie Ramazani, who plays for Spanish side Almeria represents an alternative to Benrahma.
