‘They are always welcome’ – PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi would welcome Juventus back to the ECA

Speaking at the head of a European Club Association meeting, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi revealed he would welcome Juventus back to the ECA two years after their departure. The Serie A club left the ECA following their intentions to take part in the breakaway European Super League project.

The PSG president was reappointed as the head of the European club body in September 2023. He spoke about the topic of re-welcoming Juventus to the association during the latest board meeting in Copenhagen: “If they stop what they are trying to do, which in my opinion is a stupid project, they are always welcome.”

Is a return for Juventus a possibility?

As highlighted by Le Parisien, Juventus have already told Reuters that they are “not re-evaluating the possibility of rejoining the ECA at the moment.” It appears for the moment that a potential return to the ECA for the Turin club looks unlikely.

However, for the first time, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi has spoken openly about the possibility of welcoming Juventus back to the association meaning that the situation is not completely beyond repair from the PSG president’s perspective. Despite this, a reluctance to rejoin the association could mean that Juventus haven’t surrendered the idea of a European Super League.
