INEOS hold positive talks with the Glazers in Florida over Manchester United takeover

According to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna, INEOS have held a new set of talks with the Glazer family to discuss their partial takeover of Manchester United. The talks took place between the OGC Nice owners and the Manchester United owners in Florida.  

The latest talks between the two respective parties about a minority investment in the club were ‘positive, Aouna reports. Jim Ratcliffe, who is a boyhood Manchester United fan, wants to acquire a 25% stake in the Premier League club through his business INEOS. The latest talks between the two parties are yet to produce an overall agreement thought. The British businessman envisages taking control of the sporting side of the football club if his partial takeover bid is to be successful. 

Paul Mitchell the priority for Sporting Director 

Paul Mitchell is the name that has been discussed during the meeting in the USA to take the position of sporting director if INEOS’ bid is to be successful. The former Monaco director of football is top of Jim Ratcliffe’s list but there has been no agreement for Mitchell to assume the role as things stand.
