Marseille considering loaning Vitinha or Ismaïla Sarr

Olympique de Marseille are considering loaning out one of their attacking players in January. Vitinha (23) and Ismaïla Sarr (25) are the most likely candidates, according to L’Équipe

Marseille are wary of their wage bill, which is being monitored by the DNCG. As a result, if OM want to recruit in January, they will likely be obliged to offload players. However, the candidates for a departure are not innumerable. Azzedine Ounahi, who has failed to consistently impress since his move from SCO Angers last January is still seen as a bankable asset and a strong offer for the Moroccan international could lead to a departure in January.

Premier League offers for Iliman Ndiaye

Leonardo Balerdi is also considered bankable, however, a departure is not expected in January. The Argentinian is having a good season with Les Phocéens, and he could move on in the summer.

However, Marseille are looking to give themselves some breathing room, and would ideally like to offload at least one first-teamer in January, Vitinha and Sarr are the main candidates. Sarr arrived in the summer and has four goals and four assists in 21 games in all competitions, whilst Vitinha, who arrived last winter, has six goals for OM, four of which have come this season.

Marseille would be open to loaning one of those players out, with an obligation to buy. However, with AFCON, and the two players’ personal ambitions, a departure could once again prove difficult. Iliman Ndiaye is another player who is attracting interest, notably from Everton, according to Foot MercatoBut the former Sheffield United forward, who only returned to his boyhood club in the summer, is determined to remain at OM.
