PSG’s Presnel Kimpembe could undergo season-ending surgery

Paris Saint-Germain’s Presnel Kimpembe (28), who hasn’t played since February after undergoing surgery on an achilles tendon injury, could undergo further surgery. Should he do so, the France international would be ruled out until the end of the season, according to RMC Sport

Could Kimpembe’s nightmare be about to go from bad to worse? The France international has been working his way back to fitness after suffering a ruptured achilles tendon back in February, and he has worked his way back into first-team training. However, Kimpembe has not yet made one of Luis Enrique’s matchday squad, and according to RMC Sport, he may not do so for some time.

Kimpembe to leave on a free?

Kimpembe is reportedly not completely at ease on the pitch and could decide to undergo further surgery in order to resolve the ongoing problem. Should he do so, it would represent the end of Kimpembe’s season, and a second surgery is likely.

Having come through the ranks at the club, Kimpembe has made 257 appearances for PSG, but could he already have featured for Les Parisiens for the last time? His contract expires at the end of the season and he is therefore free to discuss a pre-contract agreement with another club. With concerns about Kimpembe’s fitness mounting, it remains to be seen whether PSG will offer a renewal.
