Gianluigi Donnarumma receives two-game ban for kung-fu kick

Paris Saint-Germain’s Gianluigi Donnarumma (24) has been handed a two-game ban for his kung-fu kick on Le Havre AC’s Josué Casimir (22).

The Italian goalkeeper was sent off in the 10th minute of Sunday’s game at the Stade Océane, and whilst PSG ultimately managed to take three points, they will be without their No.1 for the next two Ligue 1 games. On Wednesday, the LFP’s Disciplinary Committee confirmed Donnarumma’s two-game suspension. He will therefore miss games against FC Nantes and Lille OSC.

Arnau Tenas (22), who replaced Donnarumma on Sunday, will likely deputise in the absence of the former AC Milan shot-stopper.

The LFP also handed Iliman Ndiaye a three-game ban for his clumsy studs-up tackle against Stade Rennais, whilst Montpellier HSC’s Boubakar Kouyaté also received the same ban for a similar tackle on AS Monaco’s Takumi Minamino. RC Lens’ Florian Sotoca has received a two-game ban for his red card in the dying stages against Olympique Lyonnais.
