Official | Jean Louis-Leca signs new contract with Lens until 2025

Lens have confirmed that French goalkeeper Jean-Louis Leca (38) has signed a new contract with the club until 2025. The 38-year-old has agreed a deal to extend his stay at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis for a further 2 years. Leca has found his playing time limited with Les Sang et Ors since the arrival of Brice Samba from Nottingham Forest.

Despite receiving reduced minutes for Lens since the arrival of the former Nottingham Forest goalkeeper, the former Ajaccio stopper still holds a major influence in the dressing room at Lens and is seen as one of the team’s leaders off the pitch. Leca often assumes the role of advisor for the team’s younger players. Lorient have previously been interested in the veteran stopper.

The Lens keeper’s contract was set to expire in 2024. However, with less than six months left on his current deal, the Champions League club have acted to secure the goalkeeper’s services for a further season. The former Bastia keeper is yet to feature in competitive action for Les Sang et Or during the 2023/24 season.
