‘An integral part of the project’ – Habib Diarra extends Strasbourg contract

France U21 midfielder Habib Diarra (19) has extended his contract at RC Strasbourg Alsace for a further year. He is now tied to Les Alsaciens until 2028.

Amidst links with a move away from Strasbourg, Diarra has committed his long-term future to the club. As per a report from Foot Mercato, Nottingham Forest and RC Lens are interested in making a move for the young Frenchman, however, despite that interest, Diarra himself reportedly wants to remain at the Ligue 1 club, at least until the end of the season.

‘We are working for the future’ – Strasbourg president Keller

Diarra’s contract with Les Alsaciens was set to expire in 2027, however, it has been extended for a further year. It has been a difficult start to the season for RCSA, who look to once again be embroiled in a relegation battle. Diarra has thus far played nine Ligue 1 games this season, scoring once.

However, whilst Strasbourg struggle on the pitch, Diarra’s extension is a piece of good news, which once again reinforces the club’s ambition. “We are working for the future and he is an integral part of our project. Habib is an excellent player, who will be able to continue his progression with us and bring his talent to the team,” reacted President Marc Keller in an official press release.
