Nottingham Forest and Lens interested in Strasbourg’s Habib Diarra

According to Foot MercatoNottingham Forest, RC Lens and Borussia Dortmund are all interested in RC Strasbourg Alsace midfielder Habib Diarra (19).

Diarra was one of the most sought-after midfielders in Ligue 1 in the summer after an impressive end to the season with Strasbourg. The expectation was that he would leave Les Alsaciens, however, BlueCo’s takeover of the club brought a renewed ambition and Diarra, one of the most promising elements in this youthful RCSA side, ultimately stayed.

Diarra keen to complete season with Strasbourg

However, Lens, who were one of the clubs to display a strong interest, are still keen on bringing the France U21 international to the Bollaert. Despite the signing of Nampalys Mendy, who has quickly integrated with Les Sang et Or, Franck Haise still wants further additions in midfield. Lens have therefore tested the water to ascertain the possibility of a January move.

Lens aren’t alone in displaying an interest in Diarra. Nottingham Forest are also interested, as are Borussia Dortmund and other unnamed Premier League clubs. However, according to Foot Mercato, Diarra himself isn’t keen on a mid-season move and would like to finish the season with his formative club before, perhaps, a move in the summer of 2024.
