Monaco predicted XI v Brest: Folarin Balogun to drop to bench?

Folarin Balogun could drop to the bench as AS Monaco face Stade Brestois at the Stade Louis II on Sunday. Multiple returnees should allow Adi Hütter to revert to his favoured 3-4-3 formation.

Monaco are slowly emerging from their defensive crisis. Whilst Caio Henrique, Vanderson and Mohammed Salisu are all still absent, Guillermo Maripán and Soungoutou Magassa both look set to return. That will allow for a return to the 3-4-3 with Ismael Jakobs and Krépin Diatta set to get the nod in the wing-back positions.

The Principality club are highly likely to deploy just one striker and Wissam Ben Yedder is the most likely to start. Balogun could therefore drop to the bench, as could Takumi Minamino, who has seen a slight drop in form in recent weeks. Maghnes Akliouche, who has impressed when given the chance, may take his place.

Monaco likely lineup v Brest

Philipp Köhn; Soungoutou Magassa, Guillermo Maripán, Wilfried Singo; Ismael Jakobs, Denis Zakaria, Youssouf Fofana, Krépin Diatta; Aleksandr Golovin, Wissam Ben Yedder, Maghnes Akliouche.
