Lens-Sevilla: Away fan ban overturned hours before kick-off

Sevilla fans will now be allowed to travel to Lens following the Council of State’s decision to suspend Monday’s prefectorial decree

The decree had prohibited supporters of the Spanish club from travelling to the Stade Bollaert-Delelis, which led to a joint action from Sevilla FC and L’Association Nationale des Supporters (ANS) to attempt to overturn it.

Their actions proved successful, as Sevilla FC notified their fans via a press release, that the appeal made in conjunction with ANS had been upheld, meaning that the travel ban on Sevilla fans had been lifted.

All supporters with tickets to the match could now go to Lens and attend the game, albeit as noted in the official communications from the club, the fact that this decision came on the day of the match, and only a few hours before it was scheduled to kick off means that there will likely be significant disruption to those that intended to travel.

This did not disrupt all fans as reported earlier, with some Sevilla ultras making the trip despite Monday’s order.
