PSG agree terms with Gabriel Moscardo

According to Fabrizio Romano, PSG have entered the final stages of negotiations with Corinthians, in order to sign their young midfielder Gabriel Moscardo (18), after having found an agreement with the player, for a fee reported to be around €25 million.

Following the probable signing of Lucas Beraldo (20), it could therefore be another Brazilian top prospect joining the French capital in the coming weeks, as the Ligue 1 champions aim to set their squad up for the future, with exciting prospects such as Warren Zaïre-Emery (17), Bradley Barcola (21) and Nuno Mendes (21) already amongst their ranks, without forgetting Xavi Simons (20) who is having an excellent season on loan at RB Leipzig.

With Moscardo and Zaïre-Emery, PSG’s midfield could be set for years to come

At 18 years of age, Moscardo played 18 games in the Brazilian Serie A, progressively integrating the starting XI, scoring one goal and providing an assist. He played most of his games in a deep defensive midfielder position, from which he is able to utilize his excellent positioning to recover possession, before pushing forward elegantly, proving extremely difficult to take the ball off of due to his seamless press resistance. Similar to WZE, Moscardo is impressive by his notable maturity at such a young age, able to retain possession in difficult moments, relieving his teammates of pressure and allowing his team’s block to reposition.

He would come to further densify PSG’s already stacked midfield sector, sharing minutes with the equally excellent Manuel Ugarte (22), before potentially becoming a starter further down the line.
