Jean-Clair Todibo set to miss OGC Nice’s match against Toulouse

Jean-Clair Todibo (23) is unlikely to feature in OGC Nice’s match against Toulouse FC on Sunday. The centre-back suffered a quadriceps injury whilst on international duty with France and is set to be rested as a precaution, according to manager Francesco Farioli.

Todibo started in Les Bleus’ historic 14-0 victory over Gibraltar, and according to L’Équipe, he was also likely to start against Greece in midweek, however, injury prevented him from featuring in Athens. The former Barcelona defender suffered a minor quadriceps injury in training and that injury is now set to rule him out of Sunday’s match against Toulouse.

Jean-Clair Todibo probably won’t feature because he had a small niggle whilst away with the France national team so we’re going to show precaution,” said Farioli in a press conference, attended by Get French Football News.

Claude-Maurice back in contention

Meanwhile, Alexis Claude-Maurice is back in contention after returning from a calf injury. He trained as normal with the first team throughout the week, and according to his manager, he could even start. That would be a boost for Nice, who are short of options in midfield. Pablo Rosario is perhaps the most likely to dip into the defence, whilst Youssouf Ndayishimiye and Hicham Boudaoui are both suspended. Options are therefore limited.
