PSG verbal agreement in place for Warren Zaïre-Emery contract extension

According to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna, a verbal agreement has been reached between Paris Saint-Germain and Warren Zaïre-Emery (17) over a contract extension. In order to secure the young midfielder on a five-year deal, Les Parisiens would have to wait until the player turns 18, on 8th March 2024.

As previously reported by Fabrizio Romano, Zaïre-Emery is seen as the face of a ‘new era’ at PSG, especially by club president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi. Having broke through last season, the teenager has become an indispensable part of Luis Enrique’s midfield this campaign.

The youngster from the Paris suburbs is currently reintegrating himself back into Enrique’s side after returning from an ankle injury suffered during his senior France debut against Gibraltar. The 17-year-old managed to score but was injured in the process, as Les Bleus cruised to a record-smashing 14-0 win.

Zaïre-Emery has featured in 11 Ligue 1 matches and all four Champions League clashes so far this campaign. The PSG youth product is already on two goals and two assists in domestic action, and three assists in the Champions League.
