Jérôme Rothen on Eintracht Frankfurt’s handling of PSG target Randal Kolo Muani: “They’re taking the player hostage”

RMC Sport pundit and former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Jérôme Rothen did not hold back in venting his frustration at Eintracht Frankfurt for their handling of PSG target Randal Kolo Muani (24). Les Parisiens and the Bundesliga side had found a €90m agreement over the France international’s transfer to the Parc des Princes this Friday. Kolo Muani is in Paris since Wednesday to seal his dream move to Luis Enrique’s side, even if it means skipping training sessions with Frankfurt.

The transfer has reportedly collapsed due to Eintracht’s failure to find a replacement in time before the 6pm closure of the summer transfer window for German clubs. Latest reports suggest that PSG will try to get a deal done before midnight, but Frankfurt is not expected to allow their prized asset to leave in those circumstances.

We’re being told that Frankfurt did not find a replacement. This is bu******”, claims Rothen. “They’re taking the player hostage. What will be said? That he should not have forced his transfer or went to Paris. He alienated his coach.” The former France international hopes a solution can still be found between the involved parties. “You can’t force a player to stay.

With Kolo Muani still under contract with Die Adler with a contract set to expire in 2027 and no player to replace him anymore, it looks like the most likely scenario as of now.
