Nantes target New England Revolution’s Djordje Petrović as Alban Lafont replacement

With Alban Lafont’s departure this summer looking increasingly likely, Nantes will now need to make a move for a new goalkeeper as their former captain prepares to leave.

According to Ouest-France last weekLes Canaris drew up a shortlist of potential replacements. The former Toulouse and Fiorentina man, who has been at the club since 2019, is the subject of interest from Celta Vigo, although the Galician outfit were yet to submit a formal offer. Sporting CP could also make a proposal in the coming days.

Nice goalkeeper Marcin Bułka has been established as a priority by the management, although the Pole’s future will largely depend on whether Kasper Schmeichel stays on for another season with Les Aiglons. Another Pole in Bartłomiej Drągowski, currently at Serie B side Spezia and a former teammate of Lafont at Fiorentina, is also among the potential targets.

Another player has shot to the top of the shortlist, in New England Revolution goalkeeper Djordje Petrović. The 23-year-old Serbian has been with the MLS side since 2022, and has kept 15 clean sheets in all competitions so far.
