PSG’s Carlos Soler visits Sergio Rico in hospital

Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Sergio Rico (29) was admitted to a hospital in Sevilla yesterday following a head injury after a collision with a runaway horse. Teammate Carlos (26), as well as FC Sevilla President Pepe Castro, have both visited the Spanish goalkeeper in hospital.

Rico was named in the PSG squad that secured the Ligue 1 title away in Strasbourg on Saturday and made his way back to his hometown of Sevilla on Sunday where the accident occurred. The player’s agency then confirmed later on Sunday that the player remained hospitalised and that the Spaniard was “in good hands” and “fighting to get better.”

Earlier on Sunday, Paris Saint-Germain had indicated to AFP that the goalkeeper’s condition was serious. The former Sevilla goalkeeper was visited by the La Liga side’s President on Monday, as well as current PSG teammate and compatriot Soler. Both were spotted entering the Virgen del Rocio hospital in Sevilla, as reported by Le Parisien
