Official | Alexandre Dujeux to remain Angers manager

Ligue 1 bottom boys Angers have announced that head coach Alexandre Dujeux will remain in the dugout after putting pen to paper over a two-year deal, keeping him at the club until 2025. Dujeux has been in charge of Les Scoïstes since March and the resignation of Abdel Bouhazama.

Dujeux did not pull off the impossible miracle of keeping Angers in Ligue 1, as the side delivered one of the poorest seasons to date in the French top-flight. Angers lost 27 league games out a possible 37.

However, the Anjou side have shown signs of improvement with the assistant of former Angers coach Gérald Baticle at the helm. Dujeux has racked up over a third of Angers’ meagre 15 points’ tally. Dujeux will be tasked to steer Angers back into Ligue 1 as the club braces itself for a return to the second division for the first time since 2015. Angers drew 1-1 with Ligue 2-bound Troyes on Saturday and travel to Nantes next week for a high-stakes game for Les Canaris as they too are poised for relegation to the French 2nd tier.
