Rennes submit €9m offer for Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sánchez

Having already brought in both Joe Rodon and Djed Spence on loan last season, Rennes are now closing in on another deal to sign a defender from Tottenham Hotspur, this time on a permanent deal.

According to L’Équipe this morning, the Bretons have submitted an offer for Davinson Sánchez, worth an estimated €9m. Rennes, who will play in the Europa League this season, are in the market for a defender late in the window amid Premier League interest for Arthur Theate, with Rob Holding reportedly also on the shortlist.

The Colombian international, who has been with the North Londoners since 2017, has one year left on his country. Spurs are said to be open to letting Sánchez leave, and would accept offers ranging between €10m and €15m. The 27-year-old has played just over 200 games in all competitions during his time in England, although he has ostensibly fallen down the defensive pecking order, having started on the bench in the last two Premier League games.
