Official | Angers president and owner Saïd Chabane hands in resignation

Ligue 1’s bottom-placed Angers have announced that club president and owner Saïd Chabane handed in his resignation during a board meeting on March 21st. Saïd Chabane’s son Romain is the new president of Angers, while Terry Kefalas has been appointed Deputy President. The latter will be in charge of the club’s operational aspects. His appointment will take effect from April 1st. Chabane owns 99% of Angers shares and was the club’s president since 2011, the year he took over Les Scoïstes.

Angers are having a nightmare of a season in Ligue 1. The Anjou outfit have lost 22 games out of a possible 28. They gained only ten points and have a 14-point deficit on 16th-placed Brest. they have been in Ligue 1 since 2015 but are now on their way to falling back into the second tier. The team will host 7th-placed Nice for Ligue 1 gameweek 29 on Sunday at Stade Raymond-Kopa.
