Lyon predicted XI v Marseille: Alexandre Lacazette and Rayan Cherki to start, Nicolas Tagliafico out

Alexandre Lacazette is set to come up against his former strike partner Pierre-Emerick Auabemyang when Olympique Lyonnais face arch-rivals Olympique de Marseille in a rearranged fixture at the Vélodrome on Wednesday night.

Pierre Sage’s second starting XI of his interim period could look a little different to his first. Nicolas Tagliafico will not take to the pitch after suffering an ankle injury in training. He will likely be replaced by Henrique. Further up the pitch, Sage was disappointed with Skelly Alvero’s showing against RC Lens last weekend and he will not only be replaced, he will also miss out on the squad entirely. Ivorian international Paul Akouokou could take his place alongside Maxence Caqueret in the midfield.

Corentin Tolisso also remains absent, however, as a key member of the dressing room, he will travel to Marseille with the rest of the team.

Rayan Cherki, who had seemingly lost his place in the Lyon side under Fabio Grosso, looks to have quickly curried favour with Sage. He looks set to start behind Lacazette.

Lyon likely lineup v Marseille
