Guingamp and Maccabi Haifa agree Frantzdy Pierrot fee but player rejects move

As reported by Foot Mercato, Ligue 2 club Guingamp and Israeli side Maccabi Haifa have agreed on a fee for EAG’s Haitian striker, Frantzdy Pierrot.

Having been some distance apart on the deal, with Guingamp demanding €2.5m while Haifa were reportedly only willing to pay €1m, a compromise of €1.6m has been agreed between the sides. However, the outlet say, the 27-year-old forward doesn’t want to join the Israeli club and is waiting for a better offer to come along.

Pierrot enjoyed a productive Ligue 2 season as Guingamp recovered from a poor start to finish comfortably inside the top half of the table despite failing to challenge for a play-off spot in the end. The striker’s combined goals and assists tally of 19 was the league’s fifth highest.

Guingamp have also reportedly been considering signing former Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo as a replacement.
