According to Santi Aouna, Ligue 2 side Guingamp are refusing to release their Haitian striker Frantzdy Pierrot (27) for less than €2.5m, in the face of interest from Israeli side Macabi Haifa.
Having played for a variety of American clubs, Pierrot came to Europe in 2018, signing for Belgian side Royal Excel Mouscron, before a move to Guingamp a year later. Since then, the Haitian has made 78 appearances for the Ligue 2 side, scoring 28 goals in that time.
More than half of his goals have come this season, as well as four assists, which places him fifth in the league for total goal contributions (19). His international form is equally impressive, having registered 14 goals in 22 games for Haiti.
However, the asking price set by the Breton side could stop the deal all together, with Macabi looking not to spend more than €1m. Santi Aouna reports that the negotiations are therefore virtually over.
