Lyon considering selling Alexandre Lacazette and Corentin Tolisso in January

According to Le ProgrèsOlympique Lyonnais are considering selling Alexandre Lacazette (32) and Corentin Tolisso (29) during the winter transfer window.

Lyon currently sit rock bottom of Ligue 1, but amidst their relegation battle, could they be set to sell two of their most experienced players? Lacazette and Tolisso, the club captains, returned to their formative club in the summer of 2022 as OL looked to reconstruct a more identifiable team, rooted in the local culture.

Last season, Lacazette scored 27 goals in Ligue 1; only Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappé scored more. However, he only has three so far this game and he is flitting in and out of the team. Tolisso, meanwhile, continues to be inflicted by the injuries that blighted his career at Bayern Munich.

Both players are on high wages. Lacazette’s €5.4m per year deal runs until the summer of 2025, whilst Tolisso’s €4.8m per year deal expires in 2027. However, their time at the Groupama Stadium could come to an end in January. Le Progrès report that Lyon are “seriously considering” selling the duo during the upcoming transfer window.
