Over the course of his half-season as manager of City Group-owned French side Troyes, Australian manager Patrick Kisnorbo will have overseen a spell of form which has included just the one win in twenty-one fixtures.
The Aube side’s relegation was made official after a 4-0 defeat to Rennes on matchday, with the team now sitting in 18th place with two games remaining.
According to L’Équipe, though, the coach has the confidence of both the City Group deciders as well as the Troyes upper management, and will still be in the dugout when the team kicks off its Ligue 2 campaign at the end of July.
The 42-year-old, whose work has been criticised in public by his predecessor Bruno Irles, is in direct contact with City Group’s Director of Football Brian Marwood. The former Melbourne City coach, who in his playing days turned out for Leicester and Leeds, has been tasked with setting up a style of play which would folllow the blueprint set by Manchester City themselves. For Troyes director François Vitali, Kisnorbo remains the ideal candidate to carry the club’s project further, a sentiment which has been echoed by president Aymeric Magne by keeping the Australian on for next season.
