Clermont forward Jodel Dossou close to Sochaux switch

According to L’Equipe, French Ligue 2 side, Sochaux, are in advanced negotiations to bring in Jodel Dossou from Clermont. The 30-year-old Beninese striker is under contract with Clermont until 2024. The details of the deal have not yet been made public.

Sochaux is currently fourth in Ligue 2 and is determined to secure promotion to Ligue 1. The club is aiming to add more firepower to their attack in order to achieve this goal and Dossou is seen as a valuable addition to the team. The winter transfer window is coming to a close, as Sochaux are looking to finalise this deal as soon as possible.

The attacker has made nine appearances in Ligue 1 this season, scoring one goal in the process. The player previously had stints in Austria with Red Bull Salzburg, Lustenau, and Vaduz, before joing Clermont from TSV Hartberg in 2020. He is also a Benin international, having appeared 50 times for his national side, scoring nine goals.
