PSG manager Luis Enrique: “I hope the club and Kylian Mbappé find an agreement.”

Speaking ahead of Paris Saint-Germain’s first Ligue 1 match of the season against Lorient, manager Luis Enrique publicly addressed the on-going stand-off between star striker Kylian Mbappé and the club. With the Frenchman still training separately in the PSG “loft”, the Spaniard faced questioning on whether a solution to the situation could be reached. The following was transcribed by L’Équipe

This is a situation which has existed before,” began Enrique, referring to Kylian Mbappé’s previous contract saga last summer, adding that, “A positive solution was found with the club before I arrived”.

“I hope the club and the player find an agreement, let me remind you that the philosophy of the club goes above everything.”

The French champions go into the new season with a margin of uncertainty, not only surrounding Kylian Mbappé. Both Neymar and Verratti are also looking at an exit route from the club. PSG face Lorient tomorrow evening at 21:00 local time at the Parc des Princes.
