Napoli’s opening offer for Kevin Danso falls short of Lens’ valuation

Foot Mercato are reporting that Napoli have submitted an opening offer for Kevin Danso (24), which falls short of RC Lens’ €30m valuation.

Danso looked set to sign a contract extension with Lens, who he helped to Champions League qualification last season. However, under the impulsion of manager Rudi Garcia, Napoli have made a last-minute approach to sign the Austrian international defender.

Having already lost Loïs Openda and Seko Fofana this summer, Le Sang et Or are determined not to lose another central figure of last season’s success. However, Napoli are proving persistent and have tabled an opening offer for Danso. According to Foot Mercato, the deal is worth €22m, which falls €8m short of Lens’ €30m valuation of the defender, who was named Get French Football News’ player of the season.

Danso himself isn’t looking to force a move, however, he has already found an agreement with the Serie A champions. A four-year contract worth €3m a year would await Danso, should he make the move to Naples.
