Chelsea’s Axel Disasi set to replace Jules Koundé in France squad

As reported by RMC SportAxel Disasi (25) looks set to replace Jules Koundé (24) in Didier Deschamps France squad.

France’s defenders are dropping like flies. William Saliba, who played through the pain to feature against Manchester City on Sunday, will remain with Arsenal as he recovers from a toe injury. He has been replaced by OGC Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo. Koundé is the latest to withdraw from the squad, according to RMC Sport. The Barcelona defender injured his left knee during Barcelona’s match against Granada on Sunday evening.

He now looks set to be replaced by Chelsea centre-back Disasi. The former AS Monaco centre-back has consolidated his position at the heart of Chelsea’s defence under Mauricio Pochettino, starting all eight Premier League matches so far this season, following his summer move from the Principality club.

France face the Netherlands in a European Champions qualifier on Friday, before facing Scotland in a friendly next Tuesday.
