RMC Sport report that Ligue 1 side Rennes have made a formal opening offer for 21-year-old Real Valladolid central defender Mohammed Salisu.
The bid is understood to be €8m, with the Ghanaian left footer’s release clause standing at the €12m mark.
SRFC want to sign two central defenders this summer and are moving quickly for Salisu because of Atletico Madrid’s interest.
However, making an offer below his already very low release clause is likely to get the Brittany side a predictable answer: no.
