Brest fans have been banned from attending the match against Rennes

As reported by L’Équipe, supporters of Stade Brestois will be unable to attend Roazhon Park tomorrow afternoon for the Brittany derby against Rennes, thanks to a decree from the Minister of the Interior.

The ban is justified by “a strong rivalry going back many years” between the supporters of the two teams, which the minister fears poses “a genuine risk of confrontation”.

Such confrontation has already been witnessed twice this season, with Rennes fans facing off against Nantes supporters in August and PSG supporters in October. As a result, Rennes will not be permitted to bring away fans to their game at the Parc des Princes next Friday.
