Benfica interested in Angers’ Angelo Fulgini

According to Ignazio Genuardi, Benfica are interested in Angers’ attacking midfielder Angelo Fulgini (25).

The former French youth international has spent the last five years with Le SCO, but has another year left on his contract. In his time, the 25-year-old has scored 24 goals and made 17 assists over 159 appearances for the club.

Often linking up well with former Southampton forward Sofiane Boufal, Fulgini had a relatively productive 2021/22 campaign, registering 9 goal contributions in the league.

Should Benfica pursue their interest in the Frenchman, he would become the fourth player to leave the club this summer, after Mathias Pereira Lage, Thomas Mangani, and the high profile Mohamed Ali-Cho (18) who was bought by Real Sociedad for a reported €12m to €15m.

Benfica will likely be looking to invest the €75m they acquired for the sale of Darwin Nuñez to Liverpool, and Angelo Fulgini could be a part of that.
