Kurt Zouma is no longer an ambassador for the Seed association

According to L’Équipe, the French-based Seed association has dropped Kurt Zouma as an ambassador since the video of the Frenchman abusing his cat was released on Monday by The Sun.

The association supports initiatives for health preservation, educational support, environmental protection and, importantly, the protection of animals.

Seed recently renovated an animal sanctuary, responsible for around 1,000 animals a year, most of which had been abandoned by bankrupt petting zoos or seized by the authorities.

In a statement, the association said: “The protection of animals in particular is a priority for Seed and we cannot support any mistreatment. Despite his status as an ambassador and his commitment to Seed’s service, which we recognise, we have, in accordance with Kurt Zouma, decided to put an end to our collaboration.”

The association has thus removed Zouma from a list of ambassadors including many 2018 World Cup winners, such as Paul Pogba, Ngolo Kanté, Djibril Sidibé, Nabil Fekir and Adil Rami.
