L’Équipe are reporting that Lyon have agreed a deal to sign Caen midfielder Johann Lepenant (19) for a €6m fee. The France U20 international will join on a five-year deal.
Caen have inserted a small sell-on clause into the deal, which, including bonuses, amounts to over €6m. According to L’Équipe, Lepenant’s signature has been a priority for Lyon’s management in recent months, and although the deal isn’t officialised, it looks as if they have their man.
Lepenant made 35 appearances in Ligue 2 last season, starting 34 and is currently representing the France U20 team at the Maurice-Revello tournament.
