Reims interested in Union Saint-Gilloise midfielder Teddy Teuma

Just over a week after the end of an impressive Ligue 1 campaign headed by rookie Anglo-Belgian manager Will Still, Reims have already emerged as one of Ligue 1’s more active clubs in the summer transfer window.

While the Champagne side looks to reinforce its attacking department – a spate of left-wingers are being looked at, on top of RB Salzburg striker Oumar Diakité – another imminent recruit could concern the team’s midfield options.

According to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the club have seen their first bid for Union Saint-Gilloise man Teddy Teuma turned down by the Brussels outfit. The French-born Malta international would nevertheless like to play in Ligue 1 and is keen on the move to Reims.

The 29-year-old, formerly of Red Star, has been with USG since their second-tier days in 2018, and has been a key part of the squad that has finished first and second in their two regular season campaigns in the first division so far. This year, he has scored 14 goals and provided 17 assists in all competitions.
