Valenciennes sack manager Olivier Guégan

Ligue 2 side Valenciennes have today announced the sacking of manager Olivier Guégan, who leaves the club after just over two seasons in charge.

The Northerners find themselves 16th in Ligue 2 after a run of three straight losses, and president Eddy Zdziech has now decided to bring a premature end to Guégan’s contract, which was running until 2023.

Christophe Delmotte, the reserve team manager, will act as interim for the time being, taking over as the club finds itself just two points above the relegation play-off spot.
