Videos circulating on social media have shown Newcastle supporters being assaulted in a bar in Paris on the eve of their UEFA Champions League encounter against Paris Saint-Germain.

The video content shows individuals, purportedly PSG ultras, attacking Newcastle fans in a bar on Monday night. The individuals, dressed in black, threw tables, chairs and flares at the Newcastle fans.

Approximately 2,000 Newcastle fans have made the trip to the French capital ahead of Tuesday evening’s fixture at the Parc des Princes. Authorities had classed the event as a “risky” match with the National Division in the Fight Against Hooliganism classifying it as a level two risk match (on a scale of five, with five being the highest). L’Équipe have reported that 150 English fans have been identified as a risk.

Newcastle fans were also attacked in Milan earlier on in their Champions League campaign. One fan was stabbed in the Navigli area of Milan back in September. PSG fans were also injured in the Italian city when they made the trip in early November.
