Monaco predicted XI v Montpellier: Eliesse Ben Seghir and Aleksandr Golovin set to return

Eliesse Ben Seghir and Aleksandr Golovin are both set to return for AS Monaco, having missed last weekend’s loss against RC Lens (3-0) through illness.

Both players were initially included in the squad, but Golovin was forced to pull out altogether. The Russian playmaker was so heavily affected by the flu-like illness, that he only returned to training on Friday. Whilst he could start, it certainly looks unlikely he will be fit enough for the full 90 minutes.

Ben Seghir, despite suffering from similar symptoms, was still able to sit on the bench but didn’t come off it in Les Monégasques. Needing goals, the Diagonale Academy product would usually be one of the first players that Philippe Clement would turn to in such a situation.

Maghnes Akliouche, who looks set to sign a contract extension with Monaco, was present at training on Friday, but is absent from the matchday squad through illness. Having missed out on the last three squads, Gelson Martins makes his return. Breel Embolo and Chelsea loanee Malang Sarr both remain absent.

Monaco likely lineup v Montpellier

Alexander Nübel – Caio Henrique, Guillermo Maripán, Axel Disasi, Ruben Aguilar –  Mohamed Camara, Youssouf Fofana – Aleksandr Golovin, Eliesse Ben Seghir, Vanderson – Wissam Ben Yedder.
