Juventus keeping an eye on Marseille manager Igor Tudor

After his appointment this summer was initially met with misgivings from both fans and players, Igor Tudor has managed to win over Marseille with a dynamic style of play that has seen the team emerge as Paris Saint-Germain’s primary contenders in Ligue 1 this season.

Having arguably bettered Jorge Sampaoli’s record from last year, Tudor’s time in France so far has been a success, despite this autumn’s Champions League disappointment. According to L’Équipe, the Croatian caught the attention of his former club, Juventus, with Massimiliano Allegri potentially leaving the Bianconero dugout at the end of the campaign.

Having been Andrea Pirlo’s assistant during the 2020/21 season before moving on to Hellas Verona, the former defender is under contract with Marseille until 2024. Although Allegri’s future is far from settled – with the team’s 15-point deduction still in the balance and a Europa League title in play – the club are nevertheless keeping an eye on Tudor, who was in the Piedmont capital as a player between 1998 and 2007. The coach’s inner circle are themselves dismissive of the rumours, while his agent will be in Marseille this weekend – although a contract renewal will not be discussed before the end of the season. Les Phocéens would like him to stay, but could be open to discussions if a lucrative offer from the Italian side comes through.
