Bafetimbi Gomis’ agent points his client in the direction of Serie A

Get French Football News has learnt that despite the positivity surrounding Bafetimbi Gomis’ return to first team football with Lyon, there has been no attempt made by President Jean Michel Aulas to repair his broken relationship with the French international striker. The player has every intention of leaving the club and if he is not sold in January, then he will leave for free in June, barring a complete turnaround in events and a very lucrative contract offer (something that Aulas is exceedingly unlikely to want to offer).

Jean Michel Aulas has no intention of letting Gomis leave for nothing and will therefore encourage efforts to sell him in January as he continues to refuse to enter into contract extension negotiations.

Bafetimbi Gomis’ Italian agent Dario Canovi has announced that there is a €3m price tag on his client’s head for any January sale, something that will alert a large handful of clubs across Europe.

Canovi had the following to say to Italian radio channel Radiosei:

‘For €3m, he has a quality-price ratio that is incredible. This summer I offered him to both Roma and Lazio. I spoke with Lotito (Lazio President), and he told me he was interested but not for that price.’

‘For January I will recommend that Gomis signs for Lazio. Without a doubt, he will be in top physical and mental shape at that point.’

Marseille and Newcastle United are rumoured to be interested in signing the player in January as well after missing out during the summer.
