Monaco interested in Motherwell’s Max Johnston

AS Monaco are interested in Motherwell full-back Max Johnston (19), who is set to leave the Scottish club in the summer, according to Fabrizio Romano

The Scottish U21 international’s contract at Motherwell expires in the summer and so he is expected to leave on a free. Johnston is attracting interest from across Europe, and notably from Ligue 1 side Monaco. Les Monégasques already count young Brazilian right-back Vaderson, as well as Ruben Aguilar amongst their ranks, but that isn’t preventing them from searching for more young defensive reinforcements.

This season, Jonhston has made 24 appearances in all competitions and has scored once and registered five assists. However, it is set to be his last season at Motherwell. As well as Monaco, Bundesliga side Augsburg and Serie A side Udinese are also linked with a move for Johnston by Romano. The race for the player’s signature remains open, and there is no shortage of interest.
