Advisor of PSG pair Marie-Antoinette Katoto and Kadidiatou Diani charged with extortion

Following RTL‘s report earlier this evening that César Mavacala., an advisor to Paris Saint-Germain players Marie-Antoinette Katoto and Kadidiatou Diani, had been taken into police custody, L’Équipe now indicate that the individual has now been charged with “extortion” and “attempted extortion“.

Mavacala, who has previously worked with former PSG midfielder Aminata Diallo, is suspected of pressuring the club in order to grow his influence on the women’s team. According to RTL, investigators have found messages exchanged between Diallo and the advisor which allegedly show an attempt at “destabilising” the club as they looked to influence key transfer decisions.

RTL have contacted Mavacala’s lawyer, Jonas Haddad, who has denied his client’s involvement in the alleged events, and has also added that the charges have nothing to do with the attack Kheira Hamraoui suffered in November 2021. As part of the investigation into those events, Diallo’s lawyers had last week submitted a request for part of the procedure to be annulled based on the way the aforementioned exchanges were obtained.

RTL add that Mavacala has now been released as of tonight under legal supervision, on a bail of €15,000, and is forbidden from going to any football ground as well as the training facilities and headquarters of PSG. He is not allowed to contact Diallo or Hamraoui, and is banned from working as a football agent or sports advisor.
